CLIENT: Leeds based manufacturer and supplier of display solutions

BACKGROUND: The client was operating with 2 HP 2840 multifunction printers. The machines had been purchased outright for £300 each. The HP printers had performed satisfactorily in terms of print quality and reliability but despite the relatively small purchase price the clients own internal analysis showed that the running cost of the machines was significant.

CURRENT COSTS: The client was spending £700 per month on consumables for the HP Printers. This cost was for toners and drums alone and did not include the expenditure that the business was incurring for engineer call outs, other parts or the initial outlay on the machines.

PRINT VOLUMES: The free AFP Digital print audit showed that the client was producing a monthly average of 12500 Black Copies & 5835 Colour Copies between the two machines.

THE AFP SOLUTION: As the existing equipment was located on separate floors it was essential for the client that our solution included a printer on both floors. AFP Digital proposed the installation of two Develop ineo+203 multifunction printers on a pay per print plan. The client’s existing copy volumes were used, and a five year or 870000 total copy volume plan was agreed. The client had no capital outlay for the two new machines as the equipment cost was included in the copy costs of 1.7pence for black copies and 5.77pence for colour copies.

THE BENEFITS: The new equipment gave the client a far superior print quality and output speed. It also gave the client far more functionality including A3 colour scanning and print management controls.
